Hex Bolt ZP Key Features
Zinc Plated: Provides basic rust protection, forming a zinc coating that prevents oxidation and corrosion,
suitable for dry indoor environments, and gives the bolt an attractive metallic luster.
Hexagonal Head Design: The hexagonal head facilitates torque application using wrenches or socket tools,
ensuring efficient installation and removal.
Material and Strength: Typically made of carbon steel (e.g., grades 4.8, 8.8, or 10.9), offering moderate
strength to withstand medium loads; precision-machined threads compatible with standard nuts.
Variety of Sizes: Diameters from M4 to M36, lengths from 10mm to 300mm, supports full or partial threads,
conforming to international standards such as DIN 931 and ISO 4014.
Economy: Low cost, readily available, the standard choice for non-extreme applications, environmentally
friendly and RoHS compliant.

Working Principle
Threaded Fit: The bolt's helical thread matches the internal thread of the nut or pre-drilled hole. When
torque is applied, the thread generates axial force and friction, securely connecting the components.
Preload Generation: By rotating the head, the bolt tension generates clamping force, distributed across
the connection surface to prevent loosening or separation. The strength grade determines the maximum
preload; for example, grade 8.8 can withstand higher torque.
Zinc Plating Protection: The zinc layer acts as a sacrificial anode, preferentially oxidizing in corrosive
environments to protect the base steel from rusting, ensuring long-term fastening performance.
Torque Control: A torque wrench is used during installation to control the torque, preventing
overtightening that could damage the threads or undertightening that could cause vibration-induced
loosening. The principle involves the coefficient of friction (zinc plating reduces friction and improves
efficiency) and elastic deformation.
Overall, it achieves reliable fastening through mechanical friction and tension, suitable for static or
dynamic loads.

Product Applications:
Building and Structures: Secures steel beams, timber frames, or concrete components, such as bridge
supports, fences, or interior finishes, ensuring structural stability.
Mechanical Manufacturing: Assemble equipment components, such as machine tool bases, conveyor
systems, or pump/valve connections, providing vibration-resistant fastening.
Automotive & Transportation: Secure vehicle frames, engine mounts, or rail components, withstanding
moderate impacts and vibrations.
Home & DIY: Routine maintenance such as furniture assembly, plumbing, or appliance installation; the
zinc plating maintains a clean and rust-free finish.
Industrial Equipment: Warehouse shelving, office machinery, or light production lines; economical and
practical as a standard fastener.
In humid or outdoor environments, upgrading to stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized versions is
recommended for enhanced durability.
