Allen Bolt Key Features
Hex Socket Drive Design: The head is cylindrical with an embedded hexagonal groove, driven by the Allen
key (hex wrench), facilitating the application of high torque in confined spaces and preventing damage to
the external head.
Material and Strength: Commonly made of alloy steel, stainless steel, or titanium alloy, with high strength
grades (e.g., grade 12.9), strong fatigue and shear resistance; the surface can be blackened or galvanized
for rust prevention.
Precision Machining: Fine threads, low-profile head, suitable for recessed installation; conforms to
standards such as DIN 912 and ISO 4762.
Diverse Specifications: Diameter M2-M36, length 5mm-300mm, supports full thread or shoulder design.
Advantages: High torque transmission efficiency, aesthetically pleasing and concealed, suitable for
high-precision applications, but requires specialized tools.

Working Principle
Drive and Fit: The Allen key inserts into the hexagonal groove of the head, applying torque by rotation,
causing the bolt thread to match the nut or internal threaded hole, generating axial tensile force.
Preload Generation: Torque is converted into clamping force, distributed across the connection surface
to prevent vibration-induced loosening; the internal hexagonal design allows for higher torque without
slippage.
Load Distribution: Under load, the cylindrical head provides uniform stress, and material properties
ensure elastic deformation recovery.
Installation Control: Precise control using a torque wrench prevents overtightening and damage to the
threads; the principle involves the coefficient of friction and mechanical interlocking.
Product Applications
Machinery and Equipment: Secures machine tool components, engines, or robot arms, providing a
reliable connection and vibration resistance.
Electronics and Electrical Appliances: Assembles computers, mobile phones, or circuit boards; the
low-profile design does not interfere with aesthetics.
Automotive and Aerospace: Connects suspension systems and aircraft structures; resistant to high
temperatures and heavy loads.
Furniture and DIY: Assembles modern furniture, such as IKEA products; discreet, aesthetically pleasing,
and easy to install.
Medical Devices: Secures surgical tools or equipment; the stainless steel version is hygienic and
corrosion-resistant.
