Key Features of HDG Thread Rod
Hot-Dip Galvanized (HDG) Coating — Provides a thick zinc layer (typically 50-100μm) for a metallurgical
bond, excellent corrosion resistance, suitable for outdoor or humid environments, matte silver-gray finish,
and a textured surface for enhanced adhesion.
Fully Threaded Design — Uniform threads throughout the rod, headless, allowing for easy cutting and
nut fitting at any position, and providing flexible length adjustment.
Material and Strength — Commonly made of carbon steel or alloy steel, high tensile strength, fatigue
resistant.
Various Specifications — Diameters M6-M48 (or 1/4"-2"), lengths 1m-6m (customizable), conforming to
standards such as DIN 975 and ASTM A193.
Advantages — Strong weather resistance, cuttable, flexible installation, economical and durable, but the
thick zinc layer may affect precision thread fit.

Working Principle
Cutting and Fitting — Cut to the required length, fitting nuts, washers, or connectors at both ends.
Preload Generation — When tightening the nut, the thread generates an axial clamping force, securing
the component.
Load Transfer — Tensile or shear force is evenly distributed throughout the thread; the zinc coating,
acting as a sacrificial anode, preferentially oxidizes and protects the substrate.
Flexible Adjustment — Multiple components can be extended or secured by adding connecting nuts;
the principle involves friction interlocking and elastic deformation.

Product Applications
Building and Structures — Ceiling hangers, railing fixation, or steel structure tie rods, providing
long-term stability.
Infrastructure — Bridge railings, pipe supports, or power tower fixation, resistant to atmospheric
corrosion.
Piping and HVAC — Suspended pipes, ducts, or equipment supports, with easy length adjustment.
Industrial Equipment — Connecting heavy machinery or frames, economical for harsh conditions.
Outdoor Projects — Fences, solar panels, or dock structures; the zinc coating ensures weather resistance.
