Hose Clamp

Standard DIN 3016/ 3017
Surface Treatment ZP, PL

Product Introduction

  • Standard Name: Hose Clamp / Hose Clip.

  • Common Names: Hose Clamp, Hose Band, Hose Clip.

  • Product Definition: A ring-shaped clamping device used to securely attach hoses to pipe fittings and prevent fluid leakage. Typically composed of a metal band, a worm gear mechanism (or bolt), and interlocking teeth, it generates uniform radial clamping force when the screw is tightened. Depending on design, types may include those with or without rubber liners.

Hose Clamp Key Features

  • Band Design: Stainless steel or galvanized steel band, with threaded or worm drive, encircles the hose to

provide uniform radial pressure, sealing the hose to the fitting.

  • Diverse Types: Common types include worm drive (most versatile), T-bolt (heavy-duty), spring-loaded

(constant tension), or ear-type (single/double ear, threadless).

  • Materials and Coatings: Commonly 304/316 stainless steel (corrosion-resistant) or carbon steel with zinc

plating (ZP), band width 8-25mm, wide adjustment range.

  • Diverse Specifications: Diameters 6-300mm (1/4"-12"), medium to high clamping force, conforming to

DIN 3017 or SAE J1508 standards.

  • Advantages: Reliable sealing, adjustable, reusable, economical and durable, preventing leaks or loosening.

Working Principle

  • Circumferential Installation: The clamp band is wrapped around the hose and fitting joint.

  • Driving and Tightening: Worm drive rotates the screw to contract the toothed band; T-bolt tightens

the bolt to compress the band body.

  • Pressure Distribution: The band body contracts uniformly, generating radial clamping force, compressing

the outer wall of the hose to seal the joint.

  • Sealing and Anti-loosening: Prevents fluid leakage or loosening due to vibration; the principle involves

    frictional grip and mechanical contraction.

Product Applications

  • Automotive Industry: Securing cooling water pipes, fuel lines, or turbocharger pipes, resisting vibration

    and pressure.

  • Industrial Equipment: Connecting hydraulic pipes, pneumatic pipes, or chemical pipes, sealing fluid

    transfer.

  • Home and Garden: Securing garden hoses, washing machine inlet or drain hoses, economical and practical.

  • Marine and Agriculture: Corrosion-resistant types used in marine pipelines or irrigation systems.

  • General Fixing: Any project requiring sealing of hose connections.
